..the more you choose to know about a person, the more they become a part of who you are. As they speak, you slowly absorb.
Your breaths exchange, their exhales become your inhales; the sustenance to live. We live through others, and thrive off of relation.
And as you inhale, their ideas and fragments of their being flow directly to your mind. And so high and lifted you become, raptured by intellectual inebriation. We give ourselves to people like this, knowing that they have given us more than simple conversation.
And receptivity like this causes them to become more and more familiar as they begin to reflect bits of you as well. Windows and mirrors these people are, allowing you to peer into the world that has influenced them, as well as reflecting the world you had given them.
You see your words in their eyes; a gateway to a soul you have changed, and will forever be a part of.
“What I want is to be needed. What I need is to be indispensable to somebody. Who I need is somebody that will eat up all my free time, my ego, my attention. Somebody addicted to me. A mutual addiction.”—Chuck Palahniuk (via eletheowl)
